Welcome to the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force's website. The Houston Metro ICAC is an organization made of local law enforcement officers who are specially trained in the investigation of online child exploitation. The personnel assigned to this task force are those who have volunteered to safeguard our children online. Each officer's agency have made a commitment to help combat online child exploitation by supporting the task force and their officers with resources and training. The task force is chartered through a Department of Justice grant and is coordinated through the Pasadena Independent School District Police Department.
The area of operation for the Houston Metro ICAC encompasses the 49 counties which extend from Nacogdoches south to Brownsville and approximately 4 to 5 counties in from the east Texas State line. Anytime an agency has a situation or case in which they need help or assistance, the Houston Metro ICAC stands ready to lend that assistance, from case consultation through to adopting the case and helping the specific agency work it through to prosecution.
The Houston Metro ICAC has officers trained in under cover chat operations, advanced peer to peer networking cases, webserver and network administration investigations and several highly trained computer forensics specialists. |
